Memorial Day Weekend Events

20 May

Here’s hoping you all have a great Memorial Day weekend with plenty of fun and relaxation!

To help make it even better, we have planned two events here at the Next Chapter.

This Friday, May 22nd, 6pm

Poetry Slam!

For poets and listeners alike, this is a tournament-style poetry performance event.  Poets, bring three poems and be ready to present them with attitude and style!  The leaders from the first round will move on to the 2nd round, and the final round will be a read-off between the two favorite poets.  Audience come prepared to have fun and listen to the great local talent – and you never know, you might be one of the at-randomly-chosen judges.  As a special added bonus, we have heard rumors that local Bard, Joe Plum might once again join us.

Friday, May 22nd through Saturday, May 31st

Used Book Sale!

All used fiction paperback books $1!

Our used book donations have been so generous that we are running out of room — so stock up on summer reads, send some to the troops, give them to your kids, the sky’s the limit!  Mysteries, Romances, Westerns, Thrillers, and so much more.  Of course, we always give (at least) 10% of our monthly used book sales to a local charity or project, and the beneficiary for May is the Red Rock Arts Alliance, so show your support to the folks who bring us Art at the (Farmers) Market each Saturday in Summer, the Autumn Studio Tour, and the upcoming Arts Midwest international travelling performance groups.

We will be CLOSED on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th
