Next Chapter Lunch Bunch Book Club

We invite you to join us on the first Wednesday of each month for a lunch-time book club discussion!

We’ve had fun choosing a selection of critically acclaimed reader favorites from among this year’s best books, including Little Bee, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie, and The Little Giant of Aberdeen County.  For a schedule of meetings, and more about these books, see our Next Chapter Lunch Bunch Page.

Valentines Day is upon us!

This Sunday is Valentine’s Day, just in case you hadn’t heard …

and Tresa and I have managed to assemble all the new fixtures we acquired and have filled them up with our new lines of locally handcrafted and quality printed Greeting Cards and other goodies that will make sweethearts all over the county enjoy their Valentine’s Day so much more!

Of course, we have books!  Check out some of  today’s most popular reads like Roses, by Leila Meacham, or the latest thriller from James Patterson, Run for Your Life; Committed, by Elizabeth Gilbert, the author of Eat Pray Love, and the fascinating Big Burn by National Book Award winner Timothy Eagan — we’ve either got them on the shelf or can order them for you within the week!  For younger readers, don’t miss this year’s Newberry Award winner, When You Reach Me, by Rebecca Stead;  or Tempted, the newest House of Night book from mother daughter team, P.C. Cast. If it’s romance you seek, how about some Love Poetry by Pablo Neruda or Ted Kooser’s Valentines?

If books aren’t quite the thing, we also have beautiful, bright tea pots and a wide selection of Harney and Sons teas, as well as Bellagio Sipping Chocolates to warm up the last cold weeks of winter.

How about some unique, beaded jewelry, a beautiful new scarf, or a chic handbag?  We also have men’s wallets and cashmere scarves or perhaps a cool new book-light would bring a smile?

And when all else fails, a brightly wrapped box of gourmet chocolates accompanied by a heartfelt card should do the trick.

If you’re not the do-it-yourself sort of person, we are happy to help you put your selections together in a Valentine basket sure to please.

So come on in, and let the Next Chapter help you make this a Valentine’s Day to Remember!
