It seems to be the season for book clubs to choose the next books in their reading line ups. The Lunch Bunch book club at the Next Chapter is no exception, and we’ve posted our selections here.
I’ve also been hearing from some other local book groups, who are reading such titles as Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, by Jamie Ford; Winter Wheat by Mildred Walker, and Bone Rattler by Eliot Pattison (which is, I think, the best book I read this year).
What’s your book club reading?
Our selection for November is Drawing in the Dust, by Zoe Klein, and remains one of my favorites out of the past year’s line up. Drawing combines lyrical writing with taught suspense, and throws in plenty of historical mystery and romance to season the mixture just right. Read my review here.
We would love to hear what other local book clubs are reading — you might have come up with some gems that other clubs might want to pick up, so leave a comment, or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with your list so that I can post it here.
In the meantime, happy reading!
