Local Author Week
Afternoon Tea with Jody Vorbrich, author of Murder in Central Standard Time
Tuesday, October 1st, 1:30
We will kick Local Author Week off with afternoon tea with Jody Vorbrich of Clive, author of Murder in Central Standard Time, which is set close to home in a fictional Pella-like town. “When amateur sleuth, Mary Jo McGee, finds a bloody leg in the Iowa Prairie Refuge where she volunteers, she begins a gruesome journey of fear, danger, and threats that ultimately lead her to a cold-blooded killer who targets her as the next victim. With the expertise of her former classmate, Sheriff Bobby Hanley, our heroine works through the many twists, turns, subplots, and suspects that develop along the way.” Jody is a delightful speaker, and we expect this to be a fun afternoon! Listen to Vorbrich’s interview on KNIA/KRLS.

Thursday, November 21st, 2013 evening
This downtown event has been going for decades now, and brings all the great folks in our community together for an evening to kick off the Holidays with living window displays. I’m always so amazed at how many people I get to reconnect with during this fun event. Check back, we will post this year’s theme and other important information as we know more.
